Swedish brand Wilma and social marketing specialist Viral Access join forces for launch in China

Eco Fashion by Wilma is a brand for tech accessories that design products made from biodegradable materials and the brand is now growing internationally. Recently signing an agreement with Viral Access, Wilma are looking to combine sustainability with style for their B2C channel rollout in China.


Wilma is a leading brand for mobile accessories made from eco materials and is now available in over 20 countries and sold at more than 2000+ retail locations. Viral Access is a merited influencer marketing agency based in China with additional offices in south east China. The two companies, both with its roots in Sweden, have now joined forces to build the Wilma brand within the Chinese direct-to-consumer market. 

Sweden is known for both its mobile industry and as a global leader within sustainability and environmental policies, so there is perhaps no coincidence that a Swedish company now pushes for sustainability within the mobile sector. 

Wilma is now focused on China, the biggest eCommerce market in the world, and in order to make an impact in a large and highly competitive market such as this, they have entered into a partnership with a Viral Access.


“I met Folke Engholm, founder and CEO of Viral Access around 3 years ago, when I was attending a seminar he conducted. He outlined the scope of the influencer driven Chinese e-commerce market, most of the channels quite unknown if you are not an expert, and it was obvious that he knew his subject matter. I am very excited to now have partnered with his company, Viral Access, to grow Wilma in China and the B2C arena,” says Parlan Fritz, CEO Wilma. 


“At first, in all honesty, we were a bit reluctant to sign up for this project. Sustainability and eco fashion have historically not been a huge unique selling points in China. However, after having done the first A – B tests to see how the market reacted the results were incredibly positive. I think the design together with their business philosophy along with their proven track record make us very confident that this will be a strong add-on to this market.” Folke Engholm, CEO Viral Access.


Wilma was first introduced into China during November 2020 where Viral Access is managing their online strategy in a long-term co-operation to build the brand. The plan centers on an influencer driven marketing strategy paired with social media and managed platforms such as JD, TMALL and others.

Eco Fashion By Wilma was born out of a desire to combine a high degree of fashion with caring for our planet. The year was 2018. Two Swedish tech entrepreneurs, Pärlan Fritz and David Malmqvist, had been working with premium tech products over the course of ten years and they saw the industry change. Cheap, poor quality accessories began competing with Swedish premium products. All the while, the threat of global warming, melting glaciers, major forest fires and plastic islands in our oceans was increasing. Fritz and Malmqvist became determined to be part of the solution, to give future generations the opportunity to experience our planet’s magnificent nature. Inspired by Pärlan's teenage daughter and her contemporaries, the pair developed their first collection of tech accessories focused on style, made from 100 percent renewable materials. They call it Eco Fashion by Wilma, a name that has come to symbolize an entire generation of style-conscious, determined young adults. Wilma stands for WILL, the will to make a difference.
